Programme
9.15 am Welcome and Coffee
9.30 am Introduction to Carpets and Carpet Cleaning Recognition
and construction of carpets, pile, backings, contents, under paddings
etc. Carpet laying and fitting techniques, seams and fixings. Cleaning
equipment - surveying the various systems and methods available
and where and when to use them. Correct and safe use of chemicals
- basic cleaning additives, pre- treatments, spot, stain and grease
removal. Practical step by step carpet cleaning demonstration.
12 Noon Lunch Break
1 pm Introduction to upholstery fabrics and upholstery cleaning.
Fabric identification and construction, fibres, linings and fillings
- webbing, fringing and buttons etc. What to consider before cleaning.
All upholstery cleaning techniques and methods. Safe use of chemicals
and treatments, spot, stain and grease removal. Practical step by
step upholstery cleaning demonstration, Selling & Marketing Pricing
and marketing - domestic and commercial work - sources of business.
Customer satisfaction and goodwill. Basic Equipment Maintenance
